Product Description
Product Overview

The AK803 60GHz FMCW Millimeter-Wave Radar is engineered for vehicle and pedestrian detection at straight-arm barrier gate entrances and exits. It delivers fast, stable detection for vehicle access control applications.

Using FMCW radar technology and advanced digital signal processing, the AK803 provides reliable target detection while reducing the need for traditional ground loops and loop wiring. The detection range can be adjusted according to the barrier arm length, lane width, and specific application requirements.

With automatic background recognition, one-key setup, and configurable detection parameters, the AK803 is suitable for parking lots, logistics parks, residential communities, commercial buildings, and other vehicle access control applications.

Installation Guidelines
  • The radar should be installed on the barrier gate cabinet with the indicator light facing upward.
  • For passenger vehicles, the recommended installation height is 55–65 cm above the ground. For large vehicles, the recommended installation height is 70–80 cm.
  • The distance between the radar and the barrier arm should generally be approximately 10–15 cm, depending on the installation position and site conditions.
  • The detection range can be adjusted from 0.5 m to 6 m according to the barrier arm length, lane width, and application requirements.
  • The radar supports left-side and right-side fixed detection direction settings. The delay time can be adjusted from 0 to 20 seconds for applications involving large vehicles, long trucks, or trailers.
Important Notes
  • Use an independent 12V or 24V, 2A power supply for the radar. Do not use the 12V output from the barrier gate control board.
  • For single-lane mixed entry and exit applications, one radar is recommended on each side of the barrier gate.
  • If the radar is installed flush with or above the barrier arm, or if the arm includes warning lights or other attachments, fixed-direction configuration and dynamic calibration may be required.
  • If objects such as license plate recognition equipment are installed in front of the radar, install the radar separately using a suitable pole or bracket to prevent obstruction.
  • In logistics parks or locations used by different types of vehicles, two radars may be required to reduce blind spots.
  • If the radar installation position, parameter settings, barrier arm condition, or site environment changes, the radar should be retrained using the scene-learning function in the radar application.
  • The radar is not recommended for entrances or exits with sharp turning angles greater than 30°.
